Abstract

Rijeka Gacka je naša najpoznatija krška pastrvska ribolovna voda prepoznata i cijenjena među sportskim ribolovcima diljem svijeta. Glavni objekti iskorištavanja rijeke Gacke u svrhu sportskog ribolova su potočna i kalifornijska pastrva, kao dvije dominantne vrste. Ljepota rijeke Gacke, kao i bogatstvo kapitalnim primjercima potočne pastrve dovelo je do razvoja sportskog ribolova i ribolovnog turizma na ovom području. Zbog očuvanja ribljeg fonda osniva se mrjestilište, a kasnije i pastrvska ribogojilišta na rijeci Gackoj. Smanjenje brojnosti potočne pastrve bio je i glavni razlog za unošenje kalifornijske pastrve u rijeku Gacku što se pokazalo pogrešnim. Obje vrste su i danas prisutne u rijeci kao i u uzgojnim objektima u okolici područja rijeke Gacke. Područje rijeke Gacke ima svijetlu budućnost u vidu kvalitetnog razvoja gospodarenja rijekom, zatim promocije ribolovnog turizma koji može biti usmjeren na Dunavski tip potočne pastrve kao i njenog uzgoja.

Abstract (english)

Gacka River is the most famous karstic trout fishing water in Croatia recognized and appreciated among sport fishermen around the world. The main objects of exploitation of the Gacka River for the purpose of sport fishing are brown and rainbow trout as two dominant species. The beauty of the Gacka River as well as the wealth of the trophy size fish had led to the development of sport fishing and fishing tourism in this area. The hatchery has been established to conserve the fish stock, as well as the fish farms on the Gacka River later on. Decreasing number of brown trout was the main reason for introducing the rainbow trout in the Gacka River what turned out to be the wrong conservation method. Both species are today present in the Gacka River and in breeding facilities nearby. The Gacka River area has a big potential for the development of high quality river management and promotion of fishing tourism that can be based on the Danube type of brown trout as well as its breeding.
