Abstract

Kapara je višegodišnji listopadni grm koji samoniklo raste na području Mediterana, a u Hrvatskoj nije zabilježen plantažni uzgoj. Mladi izbojci i plodovi mogu se konzumirati kao povrće, a ukiseljeni ili usoljeni cvjetni pupovi upotrebljavaju se kao začin u kulinarstvu. Kapare se uglavnom razmnožavaju vegetativno (stabljičnim reznicama), budući da pri sjetvi sjemena najveći problem predstavlja niski postotak klijavosti zbog dormantnog sjemena. Cilj ovog rada bio je ispitati utjecaj različitih predsjetvenih tretmana sjemena (močenje u destiliranoj vodi, ekstraktu kamilice te otopinama giberelinske kiseline GA3, kalijeva nitrata i komercijalnog preparata 'Ekobooster 1', uz ili bez skarifikacije sjemena sumpornom kiselinom) na otklanjanje dormantnosti. Abstract (english)

Caper bush is a perennial deciduous shrub that grows wild in the Mediterranean region, while in Croatia cultivation is not recorded. The young sprouts and fruits can be consumed as a vegetable, while pickled or salted flower buds are used as a spice in cookery. Vegetative propagation (stem cuttings) is mainly used, since in generative reproduction the largest issue is low percentage of germinated seeds due to seed dormancy. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of different pre-seeding treatments (soaking of seeds in distilled water, chamomile extract, and in solutions of gibberellic acid GA3, potassium nitrate and commercial product 'Ekobooster 1', along with or without chemical scarification with sulfuric acid) on elimination of seed dormancy.
