| Abstract | Kopriva (Urtica dioica L.) je višegodišnja biljna vrsta široke primjene, čiji se listovi i korijen najčešće koriste u farmaceutskoj, kozmetičkoj te prehrambenoj industriji. Pri proizvodnji proizvoda od koprive, stabljika se u većini slučajeva baca te smatra otpadom. U cilju očuvanja resursa, kao i smanjenja otpada i mogućnosti njegove ponovne upotrebe, u skladu s Novim akcijskim planom za kružno gospodarstvo Europske unije, cilj ovog istraživanja bio je utvrditi sadržaj specijaliziranih metabolita te antioksidacijski kapacitet stabljike koprive. Istraživanje je provedeno na četiri različita uzorka stabljike koprive, od kojih su tri uzorci stabljike koprive uzgajani u hidroponskom sustavu plutajućih ploča ovisno o korekciji standardne hranive otopine (princip iscrpljivanja, nadopune i korekcije) te na uzorku koprive iz prirodnog staništa, samonikla kopriva. U svrhu utvrđivanja nutritivnog sastava provedene su analize sadržaja: suhe tvari (%), ukupnih kiselina (%), pH-vrijednost, vitamina C (mg/100 g svježe tvari), ukupnih fenola, uključujući flavonoide i neflavonoide (mg GAE/100 g svježe tvari), klorofila a, b, ukupnih klorofila (mg/g), karotenoida (mg/g) i antioksidacijski kapacitet (μmol TE/L). Najviši sadržaj vitamina C (30,82 mg/100 g svježe tvari), ukupnih fenola (97,57 mg GAE/100 g svježe tvari), flavonoida (68,12 mg GAE/100 g svježe tvari), ukupnih klorofila (0,18 mg/g svježe tvari) te antioksidacijski kapacitet (1139,58 μmol TE/L) utvrđeni su u uzorku stabljike iz hidroponskog uzgoja u kojemu se vršila nadopuna standardne otopine. Temeljem dobivenih rezultata, može se zaključiti kako je stabljika koprive dobar izvor specijaliziranih metabolita te time i vrijedan biljni materijal značajnog nutritivnog potencijala pogodan za daljnju oporabu i iskorištenje prije klasifikacije kao biootpada. |
| Abstract (english) | Stinging nettle (Urtica dioica L.) is a common perennial herb whose leaves and roots are most commonly used in the pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and food industries. In the production of nettle products, the stem is usually considered waste. In order to conserve resources, reduce waste and improve the possibility of its reuse in accordance with the European Union Action Plan for a Circular Economy, the aim of this study was to determine the content of specialized metabolites and antioxidant capacity of stinging nettle stems. The study was conducted on four different stinging nettle stem samples. Three of them were stinging nettle stem samples grown in a hydroponic system depending on the correction of the standard nutrient solution (principle of depletion, replenishment and correction) and one stinging nettle sample from a natural habitat, the wild stinging nettle. To determine the nutrient composition were studied: total dry matter content (%), total acidity (%), pH- value, vitamin C content (mg/100 g fresh weight), total phenolic content (mg GAE /100 g FW), chlorophyll a, b, total chlorophyll content (mg/g), and antioxidant capacity (μmol TE /L). The highest vitamin C content (30.82 mg/100 g FW), total phenolic content (97.57 mg GAE /100 g fresh weight), flavonoid content (68.12 mg GAE /100 g fresh weight), total chlorophyll content (0.18 mg/g fresh weight) and antioxidant capacity (1,139.58 μmol TE /L) were found in a hydroponically grown samples to which the standard solution (replenishment) was added. Based on the obtained results, it can be concluded that the stem of stinging nettle is a good source of specialized metabolites and thus represents a valuable plant material with significant nutrient potential, suitable for further recovery and utilization before being classified as biowaste. |
