Abstract

Turski karanfil (lat. Dianthus barbatus) je zeljasta biljka iz porodice klinčićevki (Caryophyllaceae). Uzgaja se zbog svog izgleda i jedan je od najčešće korištenih cvjetova u aranžmanima. Izgled rezanog cvijeća, lišća i cijele biljke brzo se pogoršava zbog biokemijskih promjena i djelovanja mikroba. Svrha sušenja cvijeća je mogućnost dugotrajnog zadržavanja svoje ljepote i estetske privlačnosti. Atraktivna boja cvijeta je jedna od karakteristika koja se iskorištava u dekorativnoj industriji i može imati veliki utjecaj na ekonomsku vrijednost biljaka, zbog toga stvaramo nove boje.
Za potrebe ovog istraživanja korišteni su kultivari karanfila latica crvene, bijele i roze boje. Latice su sušene na tri različite temperature (40°C, 50°C, 60°C) te su im utvrđene kvantitativna svojstva nakon sušenja u dehidratoru i vakuumu sušari, te nakon bojanja prehrambenom i tekstilnom bojom.
Utvrđeno je da tamniji cvjetovi sadrže veći postotak vode nego svijetliji. Najbrže i najadekvatnije sušenje je na temperaturi od 60°C u vakuum sušari. Najpogodniji uzorci za dekorativnu industriju su karanfili sušeni u vakuumu i bojani prehrambenom bojom.

Abstract (english)

Sweet William (lat. Dianthus barbatus) is a herbaceous plant from the carnation family (Caryophyllaceae). It is grown for its appearance and is one of the most commonly used flowers in arrangements. The appearance of cut flowers, leaves and the whole plant deteriorates rapidly due to biochemical changes and the action of microbes. The purpose of drying flowers is the possibility of retaining their beauty and aesthetic appeal for a long time. The attractive color of the flower is one of the characteristics that is exploited in the decorative industry and can have a great impact on the economic value of plants, which is why we create new colors.
For the purposes of this research, carnation cultivars with red, white and pink petals were used. Petals were dried at three different temperatures (40°C, 50°C, 60°C) and their quantitative properties were determined after drying in a dehydrator and vacuum dryer, and after coloring with food and textile dyes.
It was determined that darker flowers contain a higher percentage of water than lighter ones. The fastest and most adequate drying is at a temperature of 60°C in a vacuum dryer and the most suitable samples for the decorative industry are carnations dried in a vacuum and colored with food coloring
