Abstract (english) | Meadows are habitats of plant and animal species and are used by mowing to provide livestock feed. With the continuous extraction of these elements, meadow soils lose their fertility, and this is the main cause of the low productivity of the meadows. Fertilization influences the productivity of biomass and the chemical composition of hay, and thus its nutritional value. To quantify fertilization of meadow soils, it is necessary to know the amount of nutrients extracted by mowing, the potential of the meadow, the zone of sanitary protection and the type of production.
The aim of the study is to determine the mineral composition of the hay of the first cut and the average amount of extracted nutrients (N, P, K, Ca, Mg, Fe, Zn, Mn and Cu) from the meadow soil of the Savski Marof water pumping station owned by the company Pliva Hrvatska d.o.o. The study determined the following proportion of macroelements (% DM): N=0.82, P=0.10, K=2.01, Ca=0.35 and Mg=0.12, and microelements (mg/kg DM): Fe=150.33, Zn=11.13, Mn=29.65 and Cu=2.87. The average extraction (kg/t DM of hay) was the following: N=8.2, P=1.0, K=20.1, Ca=3.5; Mg=1.2, Fe=0.15, Zn=0.01, Mn=0.03 and Cu=0.0029. |
