Abstract

U radu su analizirani morfološki i fiziološki odgovori presadnica madagaskarskog
zimzelena (Catharanthus roseus (L.) G.Don 'SunStorm Red') na tri različite varijante
(obroka) navodnjavanja: 100%, 80% i 60% PVK (poljski vodni kapacitet). Smanjeno
navodnjavanje dovelo je smanjenja duljine i promjera stabljike, širine biljaka, broja
bočnih grana s vidljivim cvjetnim pupovima i veličine listova, no nije značajno utjecalo
na broj nodija do prvog cvijeta i debljinu listova. Indeks sadržaja klorofila (CCI) je kod
obje varijante smanjenog navodnjavanja bio povećan. Veličina puči je u biljaka slabije
opskrbljenih vodom na obje strane lista bila smanjena, a broj puči po mm2 se na
abaksijalnoj strani lista povećao. Slabija opskrba vodom nije u većoj mjeri utjecala na
vrijeme početka cvatnje, no smanjila je promjer cvijeta, a kod 60% PVK varijante
navodnjavanja, i broj cvjetnih pupova. Provedena istraživanja pokazala su da
istraživani kultivar madagaskarskog zimzelena dobro tolerira primijenjene razine
smanjenog navodnjavanja. Iako je smanjena opskrba vodom utjecala na morfološke
parametre biljaka, ove promjene kod 80% PVK varijante navodnjavanja nisu znatnije
narušile vizualne karakteristike presadnica.

Abstract (english)

In this work, morphological and physiological responses of transplants of Madagascar
periwinkle (Catharanthus roseus (L.) G.Don 'SunStorm Red') to three different
irrigation levels (variants), 100%, 80% and 60% FWC (field water capacity), were
analyzed. Deficit irrigation led to a decrease in stem length and diameter, plant width,
number of lateral branches with visible flower buds and the size of the leaf blade, but
did not affect the number of nodes formed before flowering and leaf thickness.
Chlorophyll content index (CCI) was increased in both variants of reduced irrigation. In
plants under deficit irrigation, the size of the stomata on both sides of the leaves
decreased, while stomatal density on the abaxial side of the leaves increased. Deficit
irrigation did not affect the start of flowering, but it reduced flower diameter and, in the
60% FWC variant of irrigation, the number of flower buds. The study showed that the
investigated cultivar of Madagascar periwinkle tolerates the applied levels of deficit
irrigation well. Although deficit irrigation affected the morphological parameters of the
plants, these changes in the 80% PVK irrigation variant did not significantly impair
visual quality of the transplants.
