Abstract

Entomopatogene nematode zemljišne su nematode koje se hrane bakterijama te zajedno mogu zaraziti i ubiti niz kukaca domaćina. Primjena entomopatogenih nematoda predstavlja manji rizik za neciljane organizme u odnosu na kemijske insekticide. Zbog toga su prihvatljive za okoliš te su idealne u biološkom suzbijanju štetnika. More ispuštati u prirodu gdje se samostalno obnavljaju. Do sada su u Republici Hrvatskoj utvrđene vrste iz roda Steinernema u lokalitetima Arduševac, Karane i Đeletovci. Pretpostavka je da su prisutne i na drugim područjima u Republici Hrvatskoj, stoga je cilj ovoga rada utvrditi prisutnost entomopatogenih nematoda na poljoprivrednim površinama kontinentalne Hrvatske. Za potrebe ovoga rada prikupljeni su uzorci tla s devet lokaliteta kontinentalne Hrvatske. Postupak izolacije entomopatogenih nematoda proveden je prema metodici „Galleria bait“ i „White trap“. Abstract (english)

Entomopathogenic nematodes are soil nematodes that feed on bacteria. Together they can infect and kill several host insects. The use of entomopathogenic nematodes in plant protection poses a lower risk to non-target organisms compared to chemical insecticides. Therefore, they are environmentally friendly and are ideal for biological pest control. The most important entomopathogenic nematodes belong to the families Heterorhabditidae and Steinernematidae. So far, species of the genus Steinernema have been identified in the Republic of Croatia in the localities of Arduševac, Karane and Đeletovci. It is assumed that they are present in other areas in the Republic of Croatia, so the aim of this investigation was to determine the presence of entomopathogenic nematodes on agricultural land in continental Croatia. For the purposes of this work, soil samples were collected in nine localities of continental Croatia. The isolation procedure of entomopathogenic nematodes was carried out according to the methods of "Galleria bait" and "White trap". A total of 45 soil samples were analyzed, and entomopathogenic nematodes of the genus Steinernema were found only in one sample at the location Luka, which is 2.22 % of the total analyzed soil samples.
