Abstract

Rogač je prisutan u svim mediteranskim zemljama. U Republici Hrvatskoj je ograničen na manja područja u Dalmaciji no nema nijednog nasada. Može se naći na okućnicama ili uz putove. Mahune rogača imaju višestruku primjenu. Koriste se kao stočna i ljudska hrana, u proizvodnji posebnih kruhova, pri proizvodnji alkohola, u proizvodnji slastica, čokolada, te u farmaceutskoj industriji. More se istraživanjem želi dati doprinos revitalizacije i vrednovanja ove zanemarene voćne vrste. Cilj istraživanja bio je odrediti pomološka svojstva plodova rogača i ustanoviti razlike između pojedinih fenotipova kao i na različitim lokacijama: Podgora, Makarska, Dubrovnik, Vis i Korčula. Sa svakog stabla u optimalnom roku berbe ubrano je po 10 plodova i listova. Napravljena su pomometrijska mjerenja, a dobiveni rezultati mjerenih parametara pokazuju da se uzorci sakupljeni po različitim lokacijama razlikuju. Uzorci sakupljeni na lokaciji Vis dosta odskaču od ostalih. Na toj lokaciji su plodovi pokazali najveću širinu, debljinu i masu mahune. Abstract (english)

Carob is present in all Mediterranean countries. In the Republic of Croatia, it is limited to small areas in Dalmatia, but there are no plantations. It can be found in backyards along roadsides. Carob pods have multiple uses. They are used as animal and human food, in the manufacture of special breads, in the production of alcohol, in the manufacture of confectionery, chocolate and in the pharmaceutical industry. More the importance of preserving carob, this research aims to contribute to revitalization and evaluation of these neglected fruit species. The aim of the study was to determine the pomological properties of carob fruits and to establish differences between individual phenotypes as well as at different locations: Podgora, Makarska, Dubrovnik, Vis i Korčula. From each tree in the optimal harvest period was harvested 10 fruits and leaves. Pomometric measurements were made and the obtained results of the measurded parameters show that the samples collected at different locations differ. The samples collected at the Vis location stand out a lot from the others. At that location the fruits showed the greatest width, thickness and mass of the pod.
