Abstract

Proizvodnja cvijeća za rez bilježi konstantan porast, a najveća barijera pri njegovu plasiranju na tržište je kratak životni vijek. Rezanim cvijećem trguje se na međunarodnoj razini te se shodno tome transportira na iznimno velike udaljenosti. Produljenjem vremena skladištenja omogućila bi se lakša potražnja na tržištu. Kod skladištenja takvog cvijeća važno je da se uspore biološki procesi koji uzrokuju starenje. Većina cvijeća za rez skladišti se na temperaturi od 2 do 0°C, dok se vrste osjetljive na hladnoću skladište na temperaturi iznad 10°C. Pravilnim uvjetima skladištenja koji uključuju optimalnu temperaturu i relativnu vlažnost zraka usporavaju se metabolički procesi, transpiracija te aktivnost mikroorganizama, stoga je važno koristiti tehnologije koje će produljiti životni vijek rezanog cvijeća te održati kvalitetu kojom se postiže veća tržišna vrijednost.
Razvojem metoda za skladištenje rezanog cvijeća omogućuje se dulji period skladištenja, skladištenje nešto većih količina rezanog cvijeća te distribucija. Ovaj rad nastoji prikazati proces skladištenja te čimbenike koji utječu na kvalitetu cvijeća prilikom skladištenja. U tom pogledu fokus se stavlja na četiri najzastupljenije vrste rezanog cvijeća, a to su ruže, karanfili, krizanteme i tulipani.

Abstract (english)

The production of cut flowers is growing, and the biggest obstacle in placing it on the market is his short lifespan. Cut flowers are traded internationally and transported over extremely long distances. Extending the period of storage would ease market demand. When storing such flowers, it is important to slow down the biological processes that cause aging. Most cut flowers are stored at 2-0°C, while cold-sensitive species are stored at temperatures above 10°C. Proper storage conditions, which include optimal temperature and relative humidity, slow down metabolic processes, transpiration and the activity of microorganisms. Therefore, it is important to use technologies that will extend the life of cut flowers, and maintain the quality that achieves greater market value.
Appropriate storage methods allow longer lifespan of large quantities of cut flowers, and thus better distribution. This study seeks to show the storage process and the factors that affect the quality of flowers during storage. In this regard, the focus is on the four most common types of cut flowers, namely roses, carnations, chrysanthemums and tulips.
