Abstract

U ovom diplomskom radu istraženi su i opisani problemi i potencijali prostora prometnog terminala Borongaj. Istražene su mogućnosti povezivanja prostora u širi sustav zelene mreže grada Zagreba. Istraživanje je obuhvatilo nekoliko metoda koje uključuju kabinetski rad (desk metode), terensko istraživanje, analizu i valorizaciju prostora te sociološku analizu u vidu nisko-strukturiranog intervjua.
Osnovni problemi prepoznati unutar prostora obuhvata jesu nedostatak mjerila čovjeka, nedostatak sadržaja koji bi zadržali korisnike u prostoru i prometna zasićenost. Prostor je sagledan i van granica njegova obuhvata. Utvrđeno je kako Borongaju gravitira širi prostorni kontekst te mu se kao takvomu i pristupilo prilikom rješavanja prostornih konflikata. Prema tome, pristupilo se rješavanju bolje integracije prometnog sustava i kvalitetnije pješačke poveznice prostora Borongaja i frekventne Branimirove prometnice i željeznice.
Prostori značajnih prometnih infrastruktura, kakav je i sam Borongaj, privlače veliki broj korisnika te tako generiraju sadržaje i dinamiku. Prijedlozima krajobraznog uređenja ovog prostora pokušalo se odgovoriti na pitanja multifunkcionalnosti korištenja prostora i osjećaja ugodnosti unutar prostora, tako da je cijeli prostor obuhvata artikuliran mikrozonama prilagođenima mjerilu čovjeka. Omogućeni su sadržaji raznolikoj strukturi potencijalnih korisnika - „prolaznicima“ i stanovnicima užeg prostornog konteksta.

Abstract (english)

This master's thesis examines problems, complexity and potential of an outdoor public space which is also a transit area. This public space in urban center is taken up by tram and bus terminal, roadways and other areas for cars. This paper also analyzes possibilites of including the area into the larger urban green infrastructure of Zagreb, in a social, structural and ecological sense. Various methods were used for the purpose of this research – desk methods, field research, analysis and valorisation of the area as well as sociological analysis, meaning low structured interview.
Main problems that have been recognized during this research are the massiveness of the space compared to human scale, lack of content for the users as well as traffic overload. It has been determined that larger spatial context gravitates towards Borongaj. Accordingly, primary goals were achieveing better public transport connections and better pedestrian accessibility from Borongaj to frequent Branimirova Avenue and the related railway station.
Important areas of transport infrastructures, Borongaj being one of them, attract large number of users, thus can generate content and dynamic of the space. Landscape designs presented in this paper are aiming to obtain multifunctionality of the space and sense of satisfaction within the space itself. Whole area is made of smaller sequences that are adjusted to human scale. The content that is created can be used by different kinds of users - either passersby or residents of nearby neighbourhoods, as well.
