Klijavost sjemena kumina (Cuminum cyminum L.) na tržištu Republike Hrvatske

Abstract

Kumin (Cuminum cyminum L.) je jednogodišnja biljna vrsta koja pripada porodici štitarki (Apiaceae). Koristi se kao ljekovita biljka te kao začin u mnogim jelima. Klijavost sjemena vrlo je važan čimbenik u proizvodnji ljekovitog i aromatičnog bilja, a na hrvatskom tržištu dostupno je sjeme kumina različitih proizvođača s različitim postotkom klijavosti. U ovom istraživanju ispitivana je klijavost sjemena kumina triju različitih proizvođača (PRO.S.O.L., Royal seeds s.r.l., Planta prelesje d.o.o.) sa 6 različitih prodajnih mjesta (Sjemenarna Bakačeva, Agrotinčica, Bauhaus, Kaufland, Pevec, Flora). Utvrđivanje broja proklijalih sjemenki vršilo se 5., 7., 10., 12. i 14. dan. Dobiveni rezultati pokazuju značajne razlike između ostvarene klijavosti i one navedene na pakiranju te između klijavosti sjemena različitih proizvođača odnosno prodavača. Najveću klijavost sjemena (93%) imalo je sjeme kumina kupljeno u Sjemenarni u Bakačevoj ulici u Zagrebu (proizvođač: PRO.S.O.L), dok je sjeme prodavača Flora (proizvođač: Royal seeds s.r.l) imalo klijavost 42% što je značajno manje od minimalne klijavosti naznačene na pakiranju (80%).

Abstract (english)

Cumin (Cuminum cyminum L.) is an annual plant species which belongs to the Apiaceae family. It is used as a medicinal herb and as a spice in many dishes. Seed germination is a very important factor in the production of medicinal and aromatic herbs. On the Croatian market cumin seeds are available from different producers, but have variable percentage of germination. In this study, the germination of cumin seeds from three different producers (PRO.S.O.L., Royal seeds s.r.l., Plants prelesje d.o.o.) and 6 different selling spots (Seed shop Bakačeva, Agrotinčica, Bauhaus, Kaufland, Pevec, Flora) have been tested for germination. The number of germinated seeds was determined on days 5, 7, 10, 12 and 14. The obtained results showed significant differences between the germination achieved and the ones listed on the packages and also between different producers and sellers. The highest germination (93%) had the cumin seeds purchased at the Seed shop in Bakačeva street, Zagreb (producer: PRO.S.OL), while the seeds of the seller Flora (producer: Royal seeds s.r.l.) had germination of 42%, which is significantly less than the minimum germination percentage listed on the belonging package (80%).
