Abstract

U situaciji kada smo znatno iskoristili sve ono što nam je priroda dala dovelo je u pitanje opstanak mnogih vrsta pa tako i proizvoda ribarstva. Kako bi se zaštitili morski ekosustavi i zaustavio prekomjeran ulov ribe Europska unija donosi novi program kojim za cilj uzima da do 2020. godine što više smanji antropogeni pritisak na okoliš. Predmet istraživanja ovog rada je uloga i suradnja institucija Europske unije u zaštiti mora i njezina bogatstva. Ciljevi su prikazati i analizirati stanje ribarskog sektora u Europi i Hrvatskoj s posebnim osvrtom na usporedbu Hrvatske, Italije i Grčke. Za potrebe rada provedeno je empirijsko istraživanje o trenutnom stanju poslovanja proizvođača, otkupljivača i ribara otoka Murtera. U zaključnim razmatranjima se ističe kako ribarstvo EU-a treba biti utemeljeno na društvenim, biološkim i ekonomskim načelima održivosti čime bi se postigla veća ravnoteža između težnji za pružanje ribarima mogućnosti za povećanja dobiti te želje za očuvanjem prirodnih resursa.

Abstract (english)

The situation in which we have already used all that nature has given us has questioned the survival of many species as well as fishery products. In order to protect the sea bottom and halt overexploitation of fish, the European Union is adopting a new program aimed at reducing anthropogenic pressures on the environment by 2020. The subject of this thesis is the role and cooperation of the European Union institutions in the protection of the sea and its wealth. The objectives of the thesis are to present and analyze the state of the fisheries sector in Europe and Croatia with a special reference to Croatia, Italy and Greece. For the purpose of the work, an empirical study was carried out on the current state of operations of the producers, buyers and fishermens of the island of Murter. Concluding considerations point out that EU fisheries should be based on the social, biological and economic sustainability principles, thus achieving a greater balance between the tendencies for providing fishermen opportunities to increase their profits and desire of preserving their natural resources.
