Abstract

U svijetu je vrlo česta praksa razvijanja studentskih gospodarstava (farmi) i vrtova unutar Sveučilišta. Ovakva gospodarstva zainteresiranim studentima, najčešće agro-biotehničkih usmjerenja, pružaju primjenu i usavršavanje teorijskih znanja iz proizvodnje hrane kroz praktičan rad u realnim uvjetima. Također, studentska gospodarstva predstavljaju inkubatore za znanstvena istraživanja bazirana na održivom poljoprivrednom konceptu. Značajniji porast broja studentskih gospodarstva bio je 1970.-tih godina u SAD-u, no ovakav tip farmi postao je popularan i u drugim dijelovima svijeta. Sudjelovanjem u radu gospodarstva studenti stječu znanja potrebna za pristupanje tržištu radu, uz naglašavanje stjecanja interdisciplinarnih vještina potrebnih za rješavanje problema koji se pojavljuju u suvremenom gospodarskom okruženju. U rad gospodarstva često se uključuje i lokalno stanovništvo, kroz radionice i volontiranje, s ciljem promoviranja održive poljoprivredne prakse. U ovom diplomskom radu dan je komparativni i kritički prikaz primjera i načina organizacije svjetskih, europskih i hrvatskih studentskih gospodarstava i učeničkih zadruga, s posebnim osvrtom na razvoj studentskog vrta osnovanog na Agronomskom fakultetu.

Abstract (english)

All over the world, it is popular to start student farms and student gardens at universities. This type of farming arouses the interest among students of agricultural biotechnology and offers them the opportunity to apply the knowledge of food production in practice. Nevertheless, student farms leave enough space for future scientific research based on the concept of sustainable agriculture. A significant increase in student farms occurred in the United States in the 1970s, but it is noticeable that the number has increased around since then. Through farm work, students gain the knowledge needed in the labour market and emphasize the interdisciplinary skills needed to solve problems in the modern economy. Local communities often participate through workshops and volunteering with the aim of providing sustainable agriculture practice. In this thesis, a comparative and critical overview of examples and types of student farms and cooperatives in the world, Europe, and in Croatia was provided, with an additional overview of the development of the student garden established at the Faculty of Agriculture in Zagreb.
