Abstract

Europski dabar je u prošlosti bio sastavni dio faune gotovo svih europskih zemalja. Sustavnim nestajanjem gotovo je istrijebljen pa ga se potkraj 19. stoljeća može naći na samo nekoliko staništa u Europi. Reintrodukcija dabra u Hrvatskoj je provedena u periodu od 1996. do 1998. godine. Istraživanje je provedeno u županijskom otvorenom lovištu IV/138 „Blagaj“. Analizom vegetacijskog pokrova uz obalu rijeke Korane, utvrđeno je kako na području ima dovoljno hrane, odnosno kako su uvjeti cjelogodišnje ishrane idealni. Od 208 oštećenih stabala, evidentiranih na tri lokacije utvrđeno je kako je vrba bila najčešće oštećena vrsta (54%, 112 stabala). Osmatranjem i praćenjem je zabilježeno kako se na području lovišta nalazi minimalno 4 obiteljske zajednice, odnosno najmanje 20 jedinki dabrova (bez pomlatka). Kada se tom broju pridoda i godišnji pomladak, tada se dolazi do zaključka kako se na području lovišta nalazi maksimalno 70, te minimalno 30 (prosjek 50) jedinki dabrova.

Abstract (english)

In the past, European beaver was part of the fauna of almost all European countries. Systematic disappearance has been almost eradicated, so it can be found in only a few habitats in Europe at the end of the 19th century. The reintroduction of beaver in Croatia was carried out in the period from 1996 to 1998.The research was conducted in the Regional open hunting ground IV/138 „Blagaj“. By analyzing the vegetation cover along the river Korana, it was found that there is enough food in the area and that the conditional of the whole year's diet are ideal. Of the 208 damaged trees, recorded at three locations, it was found that the willow was the most damaged species (54%, 112 trees). Observation and monitoring revealed that at the hunting ground there are at least 4 families, or at least 20 beavers (without offspring). When this number is added the annual offspring, then it comes to the conclusion that in the area of hunting ground there is a maximum of 70 and at least 30 (average 50) beavers.
