Abstract

Cernik je općina i malo ruralno mjesto u Brodsko-posavskoj županiji. To je brežuljkasti
kraj Slavonije ispod Psunja. Unatoč industrijskoj povijesti ljudi se danas bave pretežno
poljoprivrednim djelatnostima ponajviše voćarstvom i vinogradarstvom. Kao i većina ruralnih
mjesta u Hrvatskoj Cernik se suočava s odlaskom mladih obitelji.
Cilj rada je utvrditi koje su se vrste tradicionalno uzgajale na okućnicama Cernika,
provesti inventarizaciju hortikulturne flore okućnica na području naselja Cernik, ocijeniti
njihovu održavanost i predložiti mjere očuvanja i povećanja biološke raznolikosti.
Intervjuiranjem starijeg stanovništva utvrđeno je da se nekada živjelo najviše od
poljoprivrede bilo je i obrtnih zanimanja. Vrtovi su bili ograđeni drvenim plotovima ili
ogradama u njima se nalazilo razno povrće. Uz povrće je raslo i drugo hortikulturno bilje
poput cvijetnih vrsta, grmova i drveća. Intervjuiranjem se doznaju lokalni nazivi pojedinih
biljnih vrsta.
U ovome radu istraženo je 30 okućnica naselja Cernik i determinirana je 191 vrsta iz 77
porodica. Najzastupljenije porodice su Rosaceae i Asteraceae. Najzastupljenije vrste su:
breskva (Prunus persica), Hosta sp. perunika (Iris sp.), jabuka (Malus domestica), ruža (Rosa
sp.) i jorgovan (Syringa vulgaris).

Abstract (english)

Cernik is a municipality and a small rural town in the County of Brodsko Posavina. It is
the upland region of Slavonia below Psunj. Despite its industrial history, people today are
predominatly engaged in agricultural activities, mostly fruit growing and viticulture. Like
most rural places in Croatia, Cerik faces the departure of young families.
The aim of this study is to determine which species were traditionally grown on Cernik
gardens, to conduct an inventory of the horicultural flora of gardens in the area of Cernik to
assess their sustainability and to propose measures for the conservation and echancement of
biodiversity.
Interviewing the older populatin it was revealed that people in the past mostly lived
from agriculture, there werw aslo craft occupations. The gardens were enclosed by wooden
plots or fences containing various vegetables. In addition to vegetables, other horicultural
plants such as flowering species, shrubs and trees also grew. By interviewing we learn lots of
different local names of different species of plants.
In this study, we inventoried 30 gardens of Cernik and it was found 191 species
from 77 families. The most common are the family Rosaceae and Asteraceae. The most
common species are: Prunus persica, Hosta sp., Iris sp., Malus domestica, Rosa sp., and
Syringa vulgaris.
