Abstract

Područje istraživanja je dječji vrtić „Dugo Selo“ u kontekstu utjecaja hortikulture na odgoj i
obrazovanje kroz uzgoj bilja, primjene bilja u prehrani ljudi i očuvanju okoliša. Ciljna skupina
u istraživanju bila su djeca starosti 5 – 6 godina uključena u dvije odgojne skupine , djeca u
eko skupini „Pčelice“ i djeca u jezičnoj skupini „Ježići“ . Metodom intervjua obavljeno je
anketiranje djece iz obje odgojne skupine. Istraživanje je obavljeno koristeći prigodni uzorak
(N=58) prema kriteriju pripadnosti odgojnoj skupini i spolu djece. Rezultati istraživanja
ukazuju da sudjelovanje djecu u ekološkim programima bitno utječe na njihovo znanje o
važnosti hortikulture te utjecaju hortikulture na kvalitetu života. Pored stručnih znanja o
hortikulturi djeca iz ekološke skupine imaju višu razinu svijesti glede ekologije, brige o
očuvanju okoliša, socijalne empatije i znanja o kvalitetnoj prehrani.

Abstract (english)

The research area is the kindergarten "Dugo Selo" in the context of horticulture's influence
on education through growing herbs plant, the application of herbs to human nutrition and
environmental protection. The target group in the research was the children aged 5-6 years
included in the two educational groups. Children in the Eco group "Bees" and children from
the " Hedgehog" language group that does not participate in the eco program. The interview
method was done with children from both educational groups. The research was done using
the quota sample (N = 58) according to the criteria for belonging to the educational group
and the sex of the children. Research results suggest that participation in ecological
programs is fundamentally influenced by their knowledge of the importance of horticulture
and the impact of horticulture on the quality of life. In addition to expert knowledge on
horticulture, children from the ecological group have a higher level of awareness about
ecology, environmental concerns, social empathy and knowledge of quality nutrition.
